Windows XP

Download the Lexmark T640 Printer Driver from the
Lexmark website and run the install program.
By default, this will save the drivers in the C:\Lexmark\Drivers folder.
Quit the setup program after the files have been uncompressed to your hard disk.

1. Press the Start Button.
2. Click on Printers and Faxes.
3. Double-Click on the Add Printer icon.
4. Click Next in the Add a Printer wizard.
5. Check "Local printer attached to this computer."
6. Uncheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer".

7. Click on Next.
8. Click the button next to "Create a new port."
9. Choose Standard TCP/IP Port from the drop-down menu.

10. Click on Next in the Create Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard.
11. Type in 192.168.1.2 in the Printer Name or IP Address field.

12. Click on Next.
13. Click on Have Disk.

Printer Software

14. Navigate to the C:\Lexmark\Drivers folder.
15. Now navigate to the Drivers\Print\Win2KXP folder.
16. Click on Open and then OK.
17. Select Lexmark T640 from the list in the right-hand window pane. Click Next.
18. Finish the printer setup per Windows's instructions.

Windows Vista

Download the Lexmark T640 Printer Driver from the
Lexmark website and run the install program to install the printer driver on your computer.

1. Press the Windows button.
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Click on Hardware and Sound.

Vista Printers

4. Click on Add a printer from the menu bar near the top of the window.
5. Click on Add a local printer.

6. Type 192.168.1.2 in the Hostname or IP address field.

7. Give the printer a name, such as "Library".
