Summer Reading Program

June 4th through July 16th

What is Summer Reading?

Studies show that reading during the summer can help students avoid the “Summer Slide” or a decrease in reading skills. Summer reading is a program dedicated to keeping kids of all ages reading throughout the summer so they will be better prepared for the start of a new school year. At home, kids should read 20 minutes a day and keep track of their minutes online. Then visit the library for weekly events where kids will explore many topics through a variety of entertaining and educational activities. New guests each week and exciting prizes will keep your kids excited for more!

The theme this year is "It's Showtime!" Our weekly events will fit the theme by including theater, film, music and more! Readers of all ages can log their reading minutes and earn badges online at...

Register your children online so they can receive a T-Shirt and bag at the first event they attend! (while supplies last) Events for ages 0-17 take place every Tuesday morning from 9:00– 10:00am, June 4th – July 16th. Please be on time and register ahead of time to speed up the weekly sign in process! The more often you attend events, the more chances to win a prize!
